I left Australia in early 1970, arriving in Durban, South Africa. I had a fantastic six months in South Africa as I worked my way north to Zimbabwe (Rhodesia). The Shearer family from The Ranch Resort (Pietersberg) took me under their wing. I spent several months working in the Resort's reception before leaving for Germany.
